This book continues the Fraser family story of the author’s mother Alma Beerworth Cockerline Fraser, born in 1916, and how her family of five siblings succeeded in life after their father’s suicide in 1961 when the author was only ten. Alma held her five children close and instilled determination to succeed against all odds.

Sadly, like her husband Albert who died at age54, Alma died early at age 52 of cancer, leaving the author and his four siblings as orphans to rise above adversity and not look backward to build futures outside their Dundee birthplace. Losing two parents both in the 1960s when the author was aged 10 to 18 would have been insurmountable for most, but perseverance produced strong characters and solid families.

This book covers the family struggles and life challenges in the 1960s after Albert’s untimely and stigma-ridden suicide until Alma’s own death in January 1969. It also covers Alma’s family and ancestors dating back to her great grandparents’ emigration in 1833 from Yorkshire, England to Henrysburg, QC southeast of Montreal.

Also included are outlines of sibling and cousin marriages and their extended families built after Alma’s 1969 death to 2015. It also covers the author’s spouse Debbie Townsend’s extended family and their ancestors on both sides of the family dating back to the 1800s.
